Hi,I'm sorry about the issue. What's the brand/model of your router? You can use the WPS Connection Method if the router has the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button: You would press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until all the alarm light on the printer flashes once, then right away, press the WPS button on the router for about 2 or 3 seconds. Then wait a bit, and the printer should connect to Wi-Fi/wireless.- If there is no WPS button on the printer, then you would use the Standard Connection Method, which requires having a computer temporarily; so you need to borrow a computer temporarily in order to set up the printer connecting to Wi-Fi/wireless if the router does not have the WPS button.Reference / full instructions:http://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/pixma_printer_wireless_connection_setup/mg3550_printer_wireless_connection_setup/Please reply back to continue troubleshooting. Thank you.

OK. The full instructions for both the methods: WPS Connection Method and Standard Connection Method are at the Canon website below:http://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/pixma_printer_wireless_connection_setup/mg3550_printer_wireless_connection_setup/Please let me know how it goes any time. hi, we are busy with the set up now. have inserted the disc of the printer into a laptop and chosen 'setup for ipad'. will test the connection with an ipad in a while
Expert:  Viet - Printer Tech replied 1 year ago.

OK, make sure to choose the exact same wi-fi/wireless network name for both the iPad and printer (in iPad, check Settings -> Wi-Fi.)

(Note: If the router has a wireless guest network name, it cannot be used on the printer and iPad for printing. Both printer and iPad must be connected to the regular wireless network name, not guest name.)

Please take your time, then let me know how it goes any time; I will help further as needed. Thank you.
