I have recently bought a Canon MG5650 printer with

Resolved Question:

I have recently bought a Canon MG5650 printer for use with my Mac. The installation disc is for a PC. I managed to connect to the Mac mini for air printing, and to an iPad after downloading the canon app.
I cannot scan because the printer cannot see the mac mini - it is loaded with connection to PC Local (USB) and a search does not pick up the Mac. Following scan instructions on the printer screen I can only get as far as 'set the PC to start scanning'. I have downloaded the Canon Air Printer app to the mac mini but there is no facility to start scanning.

Please go to the Apple logo / menu, then click on System Preferences, then open Printers & Scanners, then click on your Canon printer there, then click on the - (minus) button at the bottom left, and remove /delete the printer for now, then download / install the printer driver / software at the website below:http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/6/0100006056/02/mac-mg5600-1_1-mcd.dmghttp://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/products/fax__multifunctionals/inkjet/pixma_mg_series/pixma_mg5650.aspx?type=drivers&driverdetailid=tcm:14-1185011&os=OS%20X%2010.10%20(Yosemite)&language=ENNote: the download file is called "mac-mg5600-1_1-mcd.dmg". After downloading is done, then open / install it.During installation, make sure to select the wireless option if you use wireless printing., then check printing first; (if needed, go to go to the Apple logo / menu, then click on System Preferences, then open Printers & Scanners, then click on the + (minus) button at the bottom left, and add back the printer.); then to scan, open Finder icon on the Dock, then open folder Canon Utilities, then open IJ Scan Utility -> IJ Scan Utility and scan.Please reply at the box below to continue troubleshooting. Thank you very much. I managed to download and install the driver software. I now will have hours of fun playing with the new software and will do a test run scan tomorrow. I really do appreciate your help
