I have windows 7. Nothing happens and no sound when pressing scanner button

Has worked when occasionally used for years but not this AM. Other functions work. Bein g 90 years old I am no expert and don't understand MP navigator

You're welcome.Solution #1:- Click on Start->All programs->Accessories->Run..., then type services.msc then click OK, then scroll down, and open the item Windows Imaging Acquisition and make sure the Startup type is set to Automatic, then click on Apply at bottom, then click on Start button in it, then check scanningYou can try this first solution while I'm writing the next solution. Solution #2:- Open the (Canon) MP Navigator EX program on the Desktop screen; (or click on Start -> All programs -> Canon Utilities -> MP Navigator EX), then use it to scan.

Solution #3:- If you do not see the MP Navigator EX program on the computer, then click on the website below:http://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/products/fax__multifunctionals/inkjet/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp495.aspx?type=download&softwaredetailid=tcm:14-1189495, then click on the Download button to download and install the MP Navigator EX program, then open the (Canon) MP Navigator EX program on the Desktop screen; (or click on Start -> All programs -> Canon Utilities -> MP Navigator EX), then use the MP Navigator EX program to scan.Please reply at the box below to continue troubleshooting.
