I have a PIXMA iP4300 Canon printer, I need to change an ink

Resolved Question:

I have a PIXMA iP4300 Canon printer, I need to change an ink cartridge. However when I follow the instructions in the manual the Print Head Holder never movers to the centre, hence I can't access the cartridges. The green and yellow lights just flash alternatively and never stop until I turn the printer off. Any idea Chris

Can you please remove the power to the printer (so unplug it from the power socket).
Then wait 10 minutes, connect the power again to the printer, turn it on and tell me please if it is now operating correctly.
Let me know the results please

OK did that, exactly the same outcome, the carriage doesn't centre and I just have flashing green and yellow lights
Expert:  Richard replied 1 year ago.
ok, if you pull on the cartridge with a bit of force, can you get it to center?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yes. However the cartridge that needs replacing is not lit up
Expert:  Richard replied 1 year ago.
Thats ok, you can still remove it, so remove and replace it then try to print.

OK I did and on the screen it comes up with Error 6A00. Tells me to cancel printing, switch off and try again which I have done

Open the printer cover

Near of the cartridge parking position, there is a little white this (look at the picture above)
Free it and move it back again.
Then try to print
Let me know the results please
