I am trying to scan a document from an Envy 4524 to an HP

Good morning
I am trying to scan a document from an Envy 4524 to an HP Pavilion lap top.
the printer is telling me that no computer found but the lap top is connected by the cable.
Please can you tell me how I can rectify this problem?
