Canon PIXMA 560 printer - OS Windows Vista 32 bit. Requested

Resolved Question:

Canon PIXMA 560 printer - OS Windows Vista 32 bit. Requested print in usual way but print quality almost non-existent (black and white does not print at all). Have run all requests in the help menu, but no result for printing from computer or copying documents.

Have you installed the driver software of your printer in your computer?

Printer has been correctly connected and in use without problem since new and all cartridges full. Have carried out all maintenance checks.

Have you run the cleaning processes available through the computer? Also are you sure that the ink has not dried up or the cartridges are not empty? Also tell me, are you receiving any error when you give a print command.

Dear Nathan, Yes, have run cleaning process: nozzle check pattern, cleaning, deep cleaning, auto head align, head alignment print, roller cleaning and bottom plate cleaning. New cartridges fitted and all lights on. Not getting any error command. Copies are 'fuzzy' and black does not print at all. Should I run cleaning process again? Sorry to be such a nuisance. Jennie, run the Nozzle check print. Check if there are missing lines or horizontal white streaks in the pattern or not.

Hi Nathan, Spent whole morning with nozzle checks - A is fine but nozzle B is still clogged despite numerous 'cleans'. Print is demanded after each clean and I'm running out of ink, which I've ordered but won't be delivered until Wednesday. In the meantime I'll run through all the other maintenance items which don't demanded printing. Could I please contact you again on Wednesday? Regards Jennie

Hi Nathan, Just about to install new ink cartridges when a message appeared "B200 - Printer error has occurred. Unplug the power cord and contact the service centre." I have unplugged and tried to find the 'service' centre without success. Could you please advise. Kind regards ***** *****

Jennie, try this first:

1. Turn OFF Power
2. Open the print head bay (as though you were about to change inks)
3. Turn ON power
4. Wait for print carriage to start moving to the left and let it go past half way
5. Before print carriage reaches left hand side (but after going halfway across) shut the cover.
6. Leave the Printer turned on

Hi Nathan, Started maintenance check and the same message (B200) came up again. Anything you can suggest? Printer not under warranty. As I've had spinal surgery, will have to try to get a home visit from company in NW1. Lost without printer. Regards Jennie

Jennie, perform the same steps again and once the error disappears, give a print command from the computer and check if it prints or not.

Jeannie then I guess there is some electric fault with the printhead. As with your printer model, the printhead is located inside the printer which makes it difficult to check for a layman. Therefore I would advise you to contact Canon repair center and they will replace it for you.
