You need to install the driver software in your system. CLICK HERE FOR THE DRIVERS
Have you run the cleaning processes available through the computer? Also are you sure that the ink has not dried up or the cartridges are not empty? Also tell me, are you receiving any error when you give a print command.
It is completely fine Jennie. Run the processes once again.
The prints becomes fuzzy when the ink nozzles are clogged
Jennie, run the Nozzle check print. Check if there are missing lines or horizontal white streaks in the pattern or not.
Yes it's perfectly fine Jennie. Reply me when you get time and I will help you out.
Jennie, try this first:
1. Turn OFF Power2. Open the print head bay (as though you were about to change inks)3. Turn ON power4. Wait for print carriage to start moving to the left and let it go past half way5. Before print carriage reaches left hand side (but after going halfway across) shut the cover.6. Leave the Printer turned on
Jeanie, is your printer under warranty? There are two centers available. I have attached an image. You can check them out.

Jennie, perform the same steps again and once the error disappears, give a print command from the computer and check if it prints or not.
Any success, Jeannie?
Jeannie then I guess there is some electric fault with the printhead. As with your printer model, the printhead is located inside the printer which makes it difficult to check for a layman. Therefore I would advise you to contact Canon repair center and they will replace it for you.
Jennie I am sorry I couldn't resolve the issue but canon will surely resolve this hardware fault. Would you like to rate me positively?
Thank you so much Jennie. If you get any query then either reply here or drop a mail at***@******.***
