I own my own property and my partner lives wi

th me and has done for about six years

Why do you ask?

you want him/her to live in the property after you die or not?

they contribute to the property and if so, in what way?

Since your partner has lived with you for more than two years in the event of your death he would be entitled to make a financial claim on your estate of your Will makes no provision for him.
This could be a claim for a lump sum payment - or for the right to remain in the property.
It is however a right which has to be applied for - it is not automatic
