Customer Question

Do you have to supply financial information to the court when an eviction notice has been issued? Or can you withhold the information so that it is not revealed to the landlord?

Josh-2010 :

Thanks for your question. Please kindly RATE my answer when you are satisfied

Josh-2010 :

On what basis has the landlord served an eviction notice please? e.g. s21 or s8 or something else?

JACUSTOMER-8jejjlc4- :

It is S8

Josh-2010 :

Thanks. What is the ground please? e.g. arrears of rent?

JACUSTOMER-8jejjlc4- :

Yes, arrears. But complicated by large amount of maintenance work being carried out over a period of months, to try and correct a serious damp issue that had not been addressed since the start of the tenancy; and the fact that the landlord had not put the deposit into any secure scheme.

Josh-2010 :

Thank you. Is this the first s8 notice you have received in the matter?

Josh-2010 :

How many weeks arrears are you in?

Josh-2010 :

How many weeks arrears would you be in roughly after offsetting any disrepair claims you intend to make?

Just a quick reminder, there is an information request here from the Expert. This means they need to know more details before they will be able to give you a full answer.
