Our property borders land owned by a local farmer. He has insisted

Resolved Question:

Our property borders land owned by a local farmer. He has insisted we build a fence along the boundary which we are doing. Are we within our rights to.put a gate in the fence for pedestrian access?

In that case if a gate is thought to me of mutual benefit and both proprietors agree, then there's nothing to stop a gate being put in.

Otherwise there would not appear to be any purpose in doing so.
