During the gales earlier in the year my neighbours fence blew

Resolved Question:

During the gales earlier in the year my neighbour's fence blew down. He now getting a contractor to erect a more substantial fence which involves using larger diameter posts. At the same time the boards being affixed to the new posts are on my side. As a consequence I am losing about 6 inches of my land along the total length of the fence.
Am I correct in thinking that the new fence should all be within his land and not encroaching into my land?

Hello,

Yes, he should be erecting his fence on his land, not yours and you should point this out to him.
