MCOL- a bar has been put in place for Mr…..(Defendant). I hired a buillder to complete interiors of my house. He damaged my property and abandoned the project after collecting a large sum in fees. I filed a county court claim online using MCOL. Recent transactions indicate that the defendant (builder) has filed a defence and a bar has been put in place for him. What does this mean?
Hello my name is ***** ***** I will help you with this.
For now please let me know what you mean by a bar?
I am not sure as I haven't received the paper documents I suspect the builder is being chased for monies by others. The information on line says he has filed a defence . The display is as follows
A bar was put in place for Mr,,, on 03/09/2014
Mr G filed a defence on 03/09/2014
Mr G notified the court of a change of address on 03/09/2014
I ma sure I will receive further information in post over next few days but am keen to know what this might mean.Ihave just paid £450 in court fee(on line)
Ok - but all this says that he filed a defence and that he changed it address
It doesn't say anything else?
It says A bar was put in place for Mr G(defendant) on 03/09/2014
Sadly I can't tell what it is for
You do need to wait until you get the paperwork or call the Court.
Just saying its a bar could be for a number of reasons
He could have entered into an IVA or something, but you just dont know
Call the Court
Can I clarify anything for you about this today please?
Does that help?
