Our property in Kent includes a quarter mile driveway. There

Resolved Question:

Our property in Kent includes a quarter mile driveway. There are three other houses at the end of this and they obviously have access . We have been maintaining the driveway for 25 years but we'd like to know if there is aNy legal responsibility on their side to help with this. If two trees fall across the driveway in a storm is our sole responsible to have it cleared and removed? Thanks, Stephanie

Hello, I am a solicitor with 20 years experience. I will try to answer this for you.
If, as is likely, they simply have a right of way easement over your drive then they will have no responsibility for repars/upkeep.
