Can a freehold property in Scotland (jointly owned) be sold

Resolved Question:

Can a freehold property in Scotland (jointly owned) be sold without authorisation by both vendors?

Thank you for your question. I am a solicitor in Scotland.
A property is Scotland can only be sold with the consent of all owners. If there is a dispute the matter has to go to court and the court will order and supervise the sale.
Happy to discuss further.
