If my landlord is selling & gives us two months notice. As I am now a periodic tenant, do I still need to give one months notice from the monthly due date that the rent is paid?

If you are going to leave at the end of the 2 month notice period no. But if you want to leave early then yes you need to give a months notice from the due date. This is because you are still bound by the contract.
