My neighbour is cutting my hedge that is overhanging her garden.

Resolved Question:

My neighbour is cutting my hedge that is overhanging her garden. That's fine by me, but a) does she have the right to throw the clippings back over the hedge to me? I understand she is obliged to offer me the clippings, but b) do I have to accept?

No, she shouldn't throw the clippings back. She should offer them to you but if you don't want them she should dispose of them herself.

why should she not throw the clippings over my hedge? Is it just anti-social or is it an offence of littering?

It is a common law nuisance.
