My wife left me in September last and I live with my son

Customer Question

Hi
My wife left me in September last and I live with my son and daughter(19 and 18). I have been paying the rent and bills on my own. The lease is in both our names, and I understand we are jointly responsible for paying it. The lease was subsequently renewed in December, both our names were on it as she had not bothered to inform our landlord that she had left. I signed the agreement and sent it back. Her name is ***** ***** the lease. Where do I stand in getting her to pay her share of the rent from the time she left? My signing the agreement for both of us when she had left, will that be a problem?

That was obviously an oversight on my part. Not only not being familiar with the law but emotions were still running high. No other excuse.

I have a Dentist's appointment and need to leave home one hour from now. If we do not finalize this within the next hour can we resume when I get back? Sorry but I had no idea it would take a while.

Sure.
