Can you please remove the power to the player (so unplug it from the power socket).

Then wait 10 minutes, connect the power again to the unit, turn it on and tell me please if it is now operating correctly.

A 3 pin reset IS take the power socket from the mains and wait. This is what I did and then turn on however you obviously do not understand this term. Having paid £18 to be told to do the obvious this is not acceptable.
