Hi..

Hopefully i can help..

What model of Renault - engine type do you have?

Is this noise there when sitting stationary or only when moving?

Does the pitch change depending on the speed of the car?

Any issues with gear changing etc?

Hi..there thanks for your reply..

Ok..If the noise you desribe only happens when moving - but not stationary with the engine running then its possible this could point to gearbox itself/diff - the only way to maybe verify that would be to get bothe front wheels off the ground and then run the car in gear and see if that can replicate the noise you desribe aswell as help locate the source of where exactly the noise emits from - this is on the understanding that all other obvious areas such as any looose exhaust heatsheilds - the exhaust itself is supported properly - in particular up front near the engine and the rest of the towards the back all have to be checked.also check for any free play in the driveshafts especailly into the gearbox etc...If the noise stops intially when you depress the clutch then it does sound like either possible gearbox or clutch release bearing..It really has to be listened too to assertain exactly if the noise is from the gearbox /clutch housing..I do hope this helps..If you need to ask anything else or include anything further then just continue
