Customer Question

My bank has frozen my accounts but have not told me why and refuse to do so. Can they do this? What can I do to find out or resolve the issue?

Could you explain your situation a little more?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Police thought I was involved in some mortgage fraud, but I wasn't.

Police have confirmed they did not ask bank to freeze my accounts.

Bank will not say why they have frozen accounts nor are they asking for any information. They just say accounts are frozen but won't discuss.

I can't get any money out nor pay money into these accounts, so how do I receive my salary or pay bills?

Thank you for your question.
Are you in debt to anyone likely to take recovery or bankruptcy proceedings?
Have you been suspected of money laundering offences?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

The Financial Advisor who arranged my mortgage is suspected of making false claims to obtain mortgage (Ie asking for mortgage advance based on property value rather than lesser amount actually paid for property).

As it is my name on mortgage, I am also suspected of false claim, although I trusted my Finance Advisor to do things properly on my behalf.

Having said the above, the Police have not asked for my bank accounts to be frozen yet the bank will not explain why they are frozen nor even discuss with me. Neither are they asking me for any information.

What can I do?

Yes I have debts to pay, namely the mortgages but also normal daily expenses.

Is the bank the same institution that provided the mortgage?
