A section 20 order relates to a family law case. The court can order a party to provide details of his or her resources where an application is made by one or other of the parties for financial provision.

So the party would have to provide details of income, expenditure, assets and liabilities so that the court can make a decision as to what orders it can make.

The statutory provision is section 20 of the Family Law (Scotland) Act 1985.
