Resolved Question:

If I am renting out a property in scotland must the smoke detectors be hard wired. I have already got smoke detectors which were fitted by Fire Brgade.

Thank you for your question.

Any smoke alarms installed after 3 September 2007 have to be hard wired. Ones which were there before that date can be either battery or hard wired but if they break they have to replaced with mains ones.
