a flat which i live in, i offered to pay a monthly some of £800 until the debt was cleared.but was rejected i'm worried that i might be left homeless.

Your property can only be taken off you if the creditor applies for and is successful in making you bankrupt. If that happens the trustee in bankruptcy becomes the owner of your house and could sell it to repay your debts.
