Resolved Question:

My partner has an adopted daughter living in Scotland with her ex husband.
She has paid benefits for 9 years. Is it possible to pay the last 9 installments off in one go?
Her daughter will be 18 next Sept. We are getting older and want to sort our own finance
out. Thank you

Thank you for your question.
Do you mean child maintenance? Yes you can pay the last instalments in advance.
Remember that if the daughter is going to do an apprenticeship or a course of full time education and training, your partner, along with her ex husband, will have continuing duty of maintenance from the age of 18, directly to the daughter.
Happy to discuss further.
I hope this helps. Please leave a positive response so that I am credited for my time.
