MY HUSBAND HAS BEEN HAVING AN AFFAIR, BUT HAS DENIED IT UP TILL LAST NIGHT. HE HAS NOW SAID HE WILL PROBABLY BE MADE REDUNDANT SO WILL HAVE TO SELL THE FAMILY HOME BECAUSE HE WILL NEED THE MONEY TO BUY SOMETHING. HE HAS ALL THE SAVINGS IN HIS NAME WHICH HE IS GOING TO USE FOR A DEPOSIT FOR A HOUSE CAN I PUT A STOP ON HIM SPENDING THIS MONEY. HE ALSO HAS A SON WHO IS AT COLLEGE AGE 19 IS HIS STILL LIABLE TO PAY FOR MY SON AND MYSELF

He can't do any of this. You are entitled to a share of everything that has accrued since the marriage, whether is joint or single names. You have to see a solicitor immediately to get an order preventing him from touching any of the matrimonial assets until either an agreement is reached or the court decides what is Ito happen.
You can also apply for maintenance for yourself and your son can do the same.
