Iam a roofing contractor i did a job on a roof ,

Resolved Question:

iam a roofing contractor i did a job on a roof for someone, 6 months later after not being paid
for the work he says he has had another roofer do work on the roof and now wants £600.00
i was not asked to do any more work on the roof as he said it was all ok he is now saying he is going to get the roof re done again and bill me for it thanks

there were a few things wrong at the start which i fixed then he said he was happy there is nothing wrong with the roof now at all

That being the case you are entitled to be paid. You should reject the allegations about your workmanship and sue for your account. Depending on the amount you are owed will depend on whether you should do this yourself or instruct a solicitor. You can deal with this yourself if the claim is for less than £3000 under small claim procedure. See www.scotcourts.gov.uk. Anything over this you should see a solicitor.

Yes, if you complete it and snag it to a workmanlike standard he could not ask you to pay for it to be done again.
