I am currently evicting my tenant a proof has been set for

Resolved Question:

i am currently evicting my tenant a proof has been set for next year.
new tenants defence is basically bullet points only.
my questions is prior to the proof does my tenant have to provide myself with any
backing evidence to substantiate her defences?

Thank you for your question.
A written note of defence can be a summary only. However, at proof any documentary or other productions have to be lodged in advance of the proof, usually 14 days beforehand.
The nature of the oral evidence of the tenant and witnesses does not have to be provided in advance except to the extent that the defences should reflect the general nature of the defence.
Happy to discuss further.
I hope this helps. Please leave a positive response so that I am credited for my time.
