Resolved Question:

I own a Baby Lock sewing machine model 104 and have not had any problems with it until now. Something seems to have jammed as the needle will not move up or down and I am unable to turn the knob on the side. I have tried oiling but to no avail.
please can you help?
Thank you

Hi Pauline.
This is unfortunate and Im sorry you have this problem.
How old is your sewing machine?
If even not that old, I suspect it gets a lot of use. or its old either one of these things will cause this trouble.

Thank you for your response, Michael.

I have had the sewing machine for about 10 years but it has not had a great deal of use - only occasional, the odd seam but nothing heavy. There is power but it seems as if something has got stuck, the wheel/knob will not turn and therefore the needle cannot be raised.

I hope that you can help to rectify the problem.

Many thanks,

Paulene

Hi Pauline,
that is actually a good sign.
This is a timing issue, it could be a belt but more than likely its a bad belt.
This though, really needs a sewing machine rear technician to do this.
He will re time everything and replace the worn part.
I will stick with you until you have this fixed even if you need a shop please let me know where you re located so I can help further.
But since this may take some time, if you will rate my service in a positive fashion thus far before you close this page, the system will allow me to schedule free follow ups with you and also ensure your question will NOT close or time out;-)
You will then be able to contact me at anytime at no additional cost until we have this fixed for you.

Thank you Pauline.
