Hi Michael
I just bought an old merrychef mealstream Ec401. It seems that the fan oven seems to be fine but there is no microwave output. The magnatron seems very loud.

Hi Rob,
Those were great commercial units.
I would say with regards ***** ***** the magnetron is bad and needs to be replaced. Its easy enough to do;-) And there should be one available.
I know where to get parts but most are in the US , if you don't mind the shipping cost.
You can try : http://www.partstown.com/ or call(###) ###-####
Its always best to call;-)
I will help you anyway you need with this.
I will stick with you until this is fixed, please don’t forget to rate my service to you before you close this page. I will be available to you at no additional cost , you can then get in touch with me anytime by simply replying to this message.

Hi Rob, i will be here, let me know how it goes but use caution near the Electrolytic capacitor which can contain lethal voltage even when power is no longer applied!!!!

Hi Michael

I have changed the magnetron over but I am getting an E7 error code. The magnetron fan is fine it seems though. According to the manual that code is for the magnetron overheating.

Cheers

Rob

Thanks Rob, you should replace also, the capacitor and diode. hopefully that will cure this, please let me know.
When the Mag failed, it may have caused a failure in the cap or diode:-)

Hi Michael

After a bit of fiddling with the magnetron cut out all seems to be well.

Thanks for your help.
