Customer Question

I have had Norton Security installed since January 2008 on Windows Vista. I have recently upgraded to a new laptop (Windows 8.1) and installer downloaded a temporary version of Norton 16 (trial period now ended). What should I do now? My main problem is that I still have to occasionally use previous laptop for items 8.1 doesn't seem able to handle but don't want to pay for two systems. Help!!

Hi! My name is Josh and I will be assisting you. Let's get started!

I would recommend keeping Norton Security on the Vista laptop and installing two security programs that I can recommend that are free and work just as well; Are you okay with that route?

Great!

Please download Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) and Malware Bytes.

MSE download here ----> http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-download

Malware Bytes ----> http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/

They are both FREE and if you are prompted to start a trial with Malware Bytes please DECLINE otherwise you will have to pay.

Both of these programs are better than Norton in my opinion
