I have an Outlook account and I have typed in my user name

Customer Question

I have an Outlook account and I have typed in my user name and password ***** into a dialogue box headed "Internet Email". The instruction is" Enter your username and password ***** the following server..." That server is : "dub407-m.hotmail.com" I have not got a clue where this came from or whether it is right. Anyway, when I enter my details correctly the dialogue box goes away for 3 seconds only to return. It aggressively just sits there ad wont go away. Apart from that, my email account will not send or receive as normal. Ay advice as to how to deal with this would be welcome. Peter

, then in the popup box in Outlook, enter your full email address for the Username, and enter that long password, then click OK

Sorry. I have the password ***** cant find the screen with the pop up box in outlook to which you refer. Will the password *****?

Great. No, that's it; it's all done. Note: In the future, if you change your (main) email password, then after changing your email password, then you would have to go through the step to create a new app password ***** for outlook since you have 2-step verification security enabled.
