Sorry for the delay in getting back to you – Vista is not one of the fastest, as you most probably well know.
The restore point didn’t help as the problem still arose giving the same error message.
So as not to upset other programs I undone the restore point and put the PC back to how it was; also that I had to reinstall my anti-virus to configure it again, plus more Microsoft updates came in – time consuming.
As a point of interest, I had looked this problem up on Google a few days ago and it seems that many people are realising the same problem and not getting any answers. The only thing I can think of is that updates in the past from Microsoft might have upset the NX2 program, just a thought!
If you need time to look for possible answers to try to resolve the problem, I am okay with that, there is no urgency.

I reinstalled Capture NX2, but sorry to say that it has made no difference.
