Firstly, my apologies. I wrote to you two days ago, but was not able to follow up your initial reply as I had other things come along that I had to attend to. The following message is the same as originally sent.
I installed Nikon Capture NX2.2.1 on my PC some three years ago. It has always worked okay, but recently and after it is opened I get an error message (Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application… object is currently in use elsewhere) and it will not let me progress any further. I have tried the program updates, but still get the same message. Is there any way over this problem? I would like to resolve it if possible as I like the program very much.
Additional information as of today, the only way to close the program is via Windows Task Manager as the error message comes up straight away and won’t allow me to close the program. My PC is fine in that all other programs are working okay. I have also installed the program onto my Laptop, but still with the same error message.
PC Spec: HP-Pavilion, X86-based PC, 150GB Hard-Drive, 2GB RAM.
Laptop Spec: Acer Aspire 5749, X64-based PC, 750GB Hard-Drive, 4GB RAM.

Hello Jason,

Thank you for your help so far.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you – Vista is not one of the fastest, as you most probably well know.

The restore point didn’t help as the problem still arose giving the same error message.

So as not to upset other programs I undone the restore point and put the PC back to how it was; also that I had to reinstall my anti-virus to configure it again, plus more Microsoft updates came in – time consuming.

As a point of interest, I had looked this problem up on Google a few days ago and it seems that many people are realising the same problem and not getting any answers. The only thing I can think of is that updates in the past from Microsoft might have upset the NX2 program, just a thought!

If you need time to look for possible answers to try to resolve the problem, I am okay with that, there is no urgency.

At this point, the best thing to do would be to uninstall the Application and reinstall it.
If you have the installation CD, you can use that.

I reinstalled Capture NX2, but sorry to say that it has made no difference.
