I have a website which was designed and hosted via someone

Resolved Question:

I have a website which was designed and hosted via someone who has disappeared - no contact over several weeks. The content was created by me.
Is there any way of cloning or 'capturing' the content, so it can be recreated and managed by myself?
Thank you.

Hi there and welcome
It all depends on how the website was done, via what tools.
Do you know which tools were used? eg: Wordpress, Joomla, just HTML pages?

Hi, Richard

It was just html.

Thanks.

ok, then its simple, you copy the html files from your existing provider (most give you FTP access, so you can use a client like this https://filezilla-project.org/)
Then you connect to your new hosting account (also would be via FTP) and copy the files there.
As long as you do not change how the files are structured, then they should continue working.

Thanks, ***** ***** unfortunately no access to the existing provider, which would have been an easy solution.

ok, you can you this program then to download the website to your computer
https://www.httrack.com/
Then you get the files to copy to your new provider.
