Hello. Not sure if I have posted this question to the correct

Resolved Question:

Hello. Not sure if I have posted this question to the correct category but I have a end of terrace house which has a communal alleyway beside it which gives me access to my back garden. I have a single story rear extension. If I add another story to the extension, do you think I would be permitted to make it into a totally separate house?

StructuralEng :

Hello

StructuralEng :

You could be permitted to make it a separate residence, but then you'll need to meet the egress requirements

StructuralEng :

And all of the other nonstructural requirments for a separate residence.

Customer:

Egress requirements?

Customer:

Sorry .... understand now lol

Customer:

Do you think I would be allowed to make the entrance from the common pathway?

StructuralEng :

You should be able to do that as long as each residence meets teh requirements
