Hello,
Normally HMRC can go back 6 years but if the claim fraud then they can go back 20 years.
This is under what they call “Discovery” assessment ( where loss of tax due to deliberate behaviour of person or agent.

Please let me know if you need to discuss further but HMRC can demand tax 20 years later if they deem the non payment or assessment was due to fraud or intentional actions on your part.
