I own a company and pay tax as an employee of that company,

Resolved Question:

I own a company and pay tax as an employee of that company, my 97 year old father is dying with cancer, I am paying sums of money to carers and care homes for him. Can I elect for my company to pay these costs rather than paying with 'post tax' income?.

Hello and welcome to the site. Thank you for your question.

If you elect for your company to make this payments, they would be deemed unallowable as they are not business expenses falling within the term "wholly and exclusive for business purposes".

Sorry, this should have been an answer and I am repeating it here
