I want to sell coffee on Amazon UK but I live in Holland. Should I register for a VAT number here or in the UK?

Hello, I am Keith, one of the experts on Just Answer, and happy to help you with your question.
As far as the UK is concerned you do not need to register for VAT until your turnover in a year reaches or approaches GBP 82,000; that is an awful lot of coffee! Furthermore, as you are operating from The Netherlands your point of supply would be Holland.
There appears to be no registration threshold in Holland, one of the most highly taxed jurisdictions in the EU. Since you are operating from The Netherlands I am of the opinion that your registration will have to be there.
I do hope that I have shed some light on your position.
