Hello Elizabeth, I am Keith and happy yo help you with your question. Please note that Just Answer is an open forum and your disclosure of personal information is unwise, like name, addresses and NI Numbers. I am so sorry to hear of the death of your husband. I am not sure that I can assist, but I will try. Maybe you should be talking to The Pension Service, the Government agency. Indeed I am surprised that they have not advised you of the change and the reason. I must say I share your accountant's confusion. I suggest that your solution is to write to The Pensions Service, you will find their address on the letter they send you towards the end of the tax year to advise you of next year's entitlement. I am so sorry not to be able to be of more help, but have shown you a way forward.
