Hello

if the car has ABS then it very likely to have air inside the ABS pump and the way the purge the pump is to run it whilst bleeding the corners as normal

if you have a Toyota diagnostics tool then this will allow you to trigger the pump and run it as required

the other method is to drive the car and try to trigger the ABS ( ie try and force a lockup) this isn't as effective as the 1st method but can often help in this situation

Hi Matt

Thanks very much for your reply

I hope you are right - that the air is trapped in the abs system

Ive tried to trigger the abs a few times

(not easy with winter tyres !!)

Once ive done it enough times - Ill bleed the brakes again (over the week-end) and see if that resolves the situation

Can you email me on Monday of next week (10.12.12)- and I will be able to confirm whether your idea has worked

If not - I will try to bleed with the engine running

Thanks again - I will revert
