My cambelt gone on my 1998 2.0ltr gt , can I just change cam belt or is the engine in need of full rebuild?

Hello

sorry but you've been misinformed the 2.0 ltr is a interference engine so its very likely there's been valve to piston contact

you 'may' have gotten away with it but this would be very lucky

as a next step I'd pop the cam belt back on and then do a compression test to see if all cylinder pressures are within 10-15 psi of each other
