Customer Question

Hi, i have been charged with a rt88007. I blew 79 micrograms. It is my first ever offense with the law.
How long would I get banned for?
I have had my full uk driving licence for 1 years and 3 months.
Will i recieve my full uk driving licence back after the ban, or will i have to retake the practical test again?

Sorry for the delay.

This is 79 in breath?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
yeah. never had any convictions before nor have i ever committed an offense
Expert:  Jo C. replied 10 months ago.

Thanks.

If it is 79 in breath then the ban period is 17-22 months.

Expert:  Jo C. replied 10 months ago.

However, if you are offered the drink driving course then you can reduce the ban period by one quarter.

You are at the higher end of the sentencing bracket though so I would expect the Bench to be looking at about 20 months roughly.

There will also be a fine and costs but you are obviously concerned about the ban.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
after the ban, will I receive my Full UK Driving licence back?
Expert:  Jo C. replied 10 months ago.

Yes, they are not going to put you on an extended ban.

I can't imagine the DVLA will revoke for a reading of 79.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
But I have only been driving 1 year and 3 months, will i still get back it ?
Expert:  Jo C. replied 10 months ago.

Yes, the new driver scheme doesn't apply.
