What is the model number of the Samsung TV?
Is it an old CRT TV, or a new LCD TV?
Analog or digital tuner?
With the model number I should be able to work this out.
hi pete, model number is *****
So it's a 32" LCD TV with built-in digital tuner.
What postcode area are you located in?
BL7 9RR Bolton, Lancashire
Ok, so you should be tuned in to the Winter Hill transmitter in that area.
When was the TV last re-tuned?
in the past month, year, or longer?
not sure, i have not tuned it since purchased from a friend of my grandson
Ok, there have been several retunes required recently to update the frequencies used for various digitial broadcasting channels.
If the TV has not been re-tuned recently, then it would be advisable to retune it in the living room using the outside aerial so that it gets the best possible signal and picks up the correct transmitter.
This of course requires your aerial to be correctly fitted and pointing in the correct direction. It's possible that with the smaller indoor aerial in the bedroom it was not pointing in the same direction as the outside aerial, so now you cannot pick up all of the channels that were tuned in previously. If the outside aerial was working ok until the other TV broke, then it should be fine.
If you aren't sure how to retune the TV, see page 11 of the user manual.
If you didn't get the manual with the TV, you can view or download it for free at:http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200803/20080322095034640_BN68-01424A-00L08-0305.pdf
Can I be of any further assistance at all?
I have not heard back from you for a while now, are you still there?
A high rating for my service today would be greatly appreciated! :)You can still ask free followup questions at any time, should the need arise.
hi pete, did a full retune as you suggested and now everything is perfect thanks for that pete. A. Booth (printman1939)
