What is the pc setting on the list of av, that is when you press av on remote control a pc sign comes up like HDMI1. I was wondering what it was for.

This depends on the make/model of the tv.
In most cases though, the tv will have a VGA or DVI input port on the back, which is the connection that most computers would use to hook up to a monitor. You'd connect your computer to that port, set the computer resolution to 1024x768 or 1920x1080 and then the tv to the PC input. The tv would then act as a large computer monitor.
