Hello , my name is Jack Perhaps I can help you with this problem but first ;
Is there a model number available here or you have to take it off the wall first ?
I can tell you that those waterproof tv`s are not exactly your run off the mill type of tv`s but once open they would have the same electronics as current models and with board numbers , parts can usually be found .
Are you able to open it ?
Is the warranty over on this unit ?
They have a 2 years warranty
What seems to be the problem with this tv anyway ?
MODEL No ; AVF19 - 4FK.
WARRANTY RAN OUT.
CAN`T OPEN IT.
GOT PICTURE. THOUGH IT SEEMS SMALLER. CAN`T CHANGE CHANNEL. TRIED BOTH REMOTES. NO VOLUME.
Thanks for the rating .
Not sure how much info about the innards i will be able to find without the board numbers but i will give you whatever info i have when i find it , here is a pdf document that should be relevant ;
and also a few more questions ;
Does this unit have a separate wall control panel /remote switch ?
Do you mean that there is a picture ?
Do you have access to the back of the unit ?
THERE IS NO SEPERATE CONTROL PANEL. JUST 2 x REMOTE CONTROLS. 1 WATERPROOF 1 NORMAL.
YES THERE IS A PICTURE.
CAN`T ACCESS REAR OF UNIT.
No buttons to control it other than the remotes ?
O.k then you could always test the remotes and other than that the is a 3 poles 3.5mm ***** *****ke a stereo headphones jack that is used for IR sensor extension and those are known to create problems with the IR sensor unit .
Usually just inserting and pulling out a plug a few times re-establishes the contacts but then again that jack is also at the back from what i can see.
Here is how you can test those remotes with a cell phone or digital camera ;
Turn on the camera and point the front of the remote at the camera lens ,then while looking at the remote through the screen press buttons on the remote.If the remote is working, you should see light coming out the front of it while looking at it through the camera screen.If you see nothing coming out and are not sure if you did the test correctly then try it with a known working remote.You can look at the link below to see an example;http://www.theremotedoctor.com/trouble_files/remote_setup2.jpg
If the remotes are working then at some point you will have to pull that tv off the wall enclosure whether ypu repair it yourself or not .
By the way , there are contacts info`s that should still be valid in the document i gave you.
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP AND INFO. I WILL PRESS ON AND TRY AND SOLVE THE PROBLEM. TAKE CARE.
Glad i could help and let me know if yo have any questions later on .
