Samsung UE32F5500 Working perfectly yesterday. This morning

Resolved Question:

Samsung UE32F5500
Working perfectly yesterday.
This morning Screen dead.
Sound OK - can change channelshear changing audio. When Sky box switched can hear audio but no vision.
Not aware of overnight storm.
Can you offer help. Thanks.

Charlie the backlights are out on the set, these illuminate the pixels no backlight no picture just sound , now because its an LED set it will either have a dedicated board to drive teh LED display OR it will be driven from the powerboard and its this board that is most suspect , are you able to carry out work yourself on the set?I will provide all the necessary info I just need a handle on your practical ability to use small tools?

OK Charlie just before we get involved please check the set again in a dark room make sure their is no visible light whatsoever coming from the display not even a feint glow and let me know I will then further advise

Only visible light is 3 small blue lamps (WiFi(?)) on rear!

No visible light or glow on the screen.

OK charlie you see the powerboard on the left (the powercord goes into it)get the partnumber from this board it will be etched on the board and may begin BN please post me that number back

The powerboard is also the LED driver board

Part arrived this morning.

It has been carefully installed.

Regret not fixed.

Issue continues.

Can still hear audio, change channel etc but dead screen.

I can confirm the usual Samsung Smart TV logo does NOT appear.

NO screen activity at all.

Any further ideas?

As you can see their is a lead that goes from that board inside the panel to the LED array so its either that board or the LED array OR the board you got is bad (not unusual as they are pulled boards)

Is the partnumbee exact on the original board and this one?

I think you have a bad set of backlights thats not an option to replace, you should contact samsung via the website and complain www.samsung.com/uk
