How old is the TV and how long it have had the problem?

Customer:

ok

Customer:

2007 or 2008. It has a manufacturing date of 2006 on the back.

Shahid :

OK, was there any storm in area that might caused the problem?

Customer:

This problem arose for the first time last night. Never any previous problems.

Customer:

No storms!!

Shahid :

OK and how long the TV power cord left unplugged from wall socket?

Customer:

3 minutes

Thanks for the info, can you please try to unplug TV for 10 minutes, replug and check if power light still flashing 5 times?

OK. It has been completely disconnected overnight. I will try now!

Missed what you said. I have tried it. Still 5 red flashes!

OK, 5 times flashing light on this TV indicates sub power supply problem on main board and entire main board will need to be replaced.

Any idea of cost? Sounds expensive!!

I would need an engineer as well! Sounds like I have to make a decision? Is it going to be worth it with new tvs being so inexpensive!!

I agree, sounds its time for new TV if repair cost goes more than 50% of new TV price
