I have the Sony Bravia model and I have tried scanning for

Resolved Question:

I have the Sony Bravia model and I have tried scanning for updated channels several times. However, it is not registering new channels e.g. Spike and the channel numbers vary with each scan and are not compatible with the Radio Times channel numbers, apart from BBC1 and BBC2. Also, after switching on, the BBC channels cut out and then come on again. Service is provided by the Sandy transmitter. I hope you are able to help. Many thanks.

This is a symptom of receiving signals from the wrong transmitter.

Please try to disconnect the aerial cable from the back of your TV and then do another scan.

After this has finished, please plug the aerial cable back in again and do another retune.

This should fix the problem.

If not, please verify that the aerial is pointing in the correct direction. The easiest way is to compare yours with a neighbours.

Have tried scanning as suggested, but no improvement. My arial is in the loft, and always has been, and I am unable to get up there myself, so will have to wait until tomorrow to see if it is all right. Thank you for your help so far. I will be in touch tomorrow.
