I have a 9 year old 42" Panasonic TV. Last night there was

Resolved Question:

I have a 9 year old 42" Panasonic TV. Last night there was a fault on the house power circuit which cut off all appliances but not lights.
The fault was traced and rectified by an electrician, However,the TV will not stsart up and these not a red power light on. electrician checked power supply to TV is OK.
Can you advise my best action please to restore my TV to operate ?

Hello and sorry you're having problems. In most cases one of the ceramic AC mains fuses inside of the TV- on the power supply board has failed, and is the most common cause of this problem. However it's worth it to try a hard reset, as sometimes the processor in the TV can simply have locked up. The first thing you would try, is disconnect the set from power, then press and hold the power button on the TV itself (not the remote), for 10 seconds and release. Then plug the set back in, and also check that the power cord is connected tight at the TV as well. Press power once, and see if the set powers up normally. Try this procedure up to 3 times, and please let me know what happens. If the TV does NOT show any signs of life at all after this reset- then I will need the full model number off of the back of the set to assist you further. If you need further assistance let me know.
