Hi , I`m Jack Perhaps I can help you with this problem but first could you please give me the tv`s model number ?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It would be very difficult to access the model number as the TVs is built into the wall. Do you think the connection to the sensor button has become disconnected?
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.
Is there physical damage in that area ?If not then no not disconnected but very likely defective and this is quite common .Its a small board that usually cost around $20
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.
Approx. 12 pounds ??
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.
With the full model number i could find it for you and in any case if you want to replace it then the tv will have to come down the wall
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yes - it is located in a cinema type room where we only watch videos & films
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.
I have what appears to be your tv`s manual here (link below) , look on page 17 and tell me if that " External sensor kit " is what you have ?Click the link below for the manual and if that link opens a login window popup then just close it with the upper corner X or the "no thanks , continue to view"The manual is behind that and click the download button ;https://www.dropbox.com/s/ryfxhqg5awjqb7u/SAMSUNG_UD46C.pdf?dl=0
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The sensor is a pull down button located on the bottom edge of the TV on the right - see photo attached.
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.
Sorry but all i see from the picture is a little bump there .Did you look at the manual i gave you ?Do you have that sensor/power/input button kit ?Is that what seems to be defective ?According to the manual it can also be connected at the top right corner as well .Have you tried that ?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The manual that you sent is different to the TV as the only remote sensor on the TV is a button on the bottom edge as shown in the photo supplied
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.
Yes but is it removeable ??By the way , this doesn`t seem to be much of a rush for you , you tell me 4 days later that the manual doesn`t seem to be the correct one , did you just look at it ???
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.
If you can`t give me more numbers or info then i`m gonna have to opt out of this , cannot work like this sorry
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I did look at the manual but it did not show a sensor on the bottom edge of the frame which is why I sent the photo to show where it is. If that sensor is not working could you suggest what the problem might be and how it might be rectified.
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.
O.k then found some more info on this .There are variation to that external sensor kit , look at the link below for another manual but this time it is YOUR tv and you will see that this sensor can be attached pretty much anywhere on the tv`s right side ,including the bottom , check this link ;http://data.manualslib.com/pdf3/60/5957/595616-samsung/ud46cb.pdf?95b0b58d5b71df32d031729fa69548c6&take=binaryNow from what you said it look likes the sensor module is the culprit and needs replacing .Trick would be now to find it .You are in the UK , where did you buy this tv and how long ago ?There is very little info on this commercial /institution model
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.
By the way , you can see it on page 18
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have found a Samsung manual with the type of pull down remote sensor on my TV - page 24/25 - link attached.http://www.samsung.com/us/business/resources/UE55A/User_Manual/[ME32B%20ME40B%20ME46B%20ME55B%20UE46A%20UE55A]User%20manual.pdf
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.
Not the same numbers you gave me at first
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.
I`ll get back to you on that .How old is this tv anyway ?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It was purchased around August 2013 but not sure when it was made.
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.
O.k then let me see what I can find but another question on this ;Did you say that this button/sensor could be pulled down or removeable ?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The button can only be pulled down to be visible to the remote - it cannot be removed.
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.
I see , this is definitely not your regular run of the mill model .Still , let me see what I can find
