I have a 42" Hitachi T.V which has is not switching on.

Hi,
I have a 42" Hitachi T.V which has is not switching on. The red button is flashing red/blue but when I press remote, nothing is happening. I have changed batteries in remote etc.
Can you help?

OK thanks that helps OK we have a procedure to follow and the first thing to do is re-boot the set, you do that by unplugging the set from the wall wait 5 mins then re-plug back in again and switch on if necessary, let me know if there is any change Anthony

Hello The chassis in this set is made by a company called Vestal the set is a "branded" hitachi in other words they had permission to use hitachis name on a Vestal product, the chassis is also found in sanyo and other makes of set, now when we used to fix these sets on a regular basis we took with us the power and mainboard so its either of those two boards that have gone bad, now if you/someone you know think you can do work with the set (we will make checks to decide what board) please let me know I will be happy to help, otherwise you will need an engineer to do this est cost of around £130 Let me know please Please consider rating the answer positively there will be a rating bar of stars usually at the top of the page with this post thank you, ***** ***** positively enables me to receive credit from the site thanks again, the session will remain open and stay open as long as you need it, if you have any concerns please just let me know and I will answer any queries you have Many Thanks Anthony
