Hello, I need the model number off of the back of the set, as the number you posted is something else.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
hi, the number i gave you was serialnumber model number is *****

Thank you- I can work with this number now. The stripes on the screen are either indicative of a faulty T-Con" board (LCD timing controller), or in some cases is caused by a fault on the power supply board- which has several independent power supplies- once specific that feeds that board. The T-con is the small board at the top and it connects directly to the LCD panel (screen) of the TV. So while that is your MOST common cause of this issue, did your TV man test the power board voltages to ensure that was not the problem? Also are you looking for a confirmation of his diagnosis, or are you looking for the part to try to repair this yourself please?

For reference, and so you can search that part- the link below is to the T-con board for your set (however it is showing as sold):

In order to source one, you would use the part number of the board, which is: Hitachi 6870C-0243C 6871L-1501B.

You can search that number on Ebay UK's site periodically, or check any other used/pulled parts suppliers in your area to try and find that board. I am not finding one of them available here in the U.S. unfortunately. If you need further assistance let me know. Please do not forget to click at least a 3 STAR RATING, at the top of the page for my efforts. You can follow up at any time if needed.
